The original Mellotron plays recordings from magnetic tape when a key is pressed. This browser version plays digital samples using the Web Audio API.
Sample playback uses MP3 by default, with a Dolby Digital Plus version for browsers that report support. The sound you hear depends on the browser and playback device.
