Your privacy is important to us. It is Sodaphonic's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, https://sodaphonic.com, and other sites we own and operate.
How the current tools handle your data
Feature information updated 9 September 2026. The following explains when the tools process audio locally and when they send information to online services.
- Local editing and conversion: opening a file from your device, cutting, trimming, applying local effects, and exporting operate in your browser. The converter downloads its processing software from a content delivery network; it does not send your source file to that network for conversion.
- Accounts and cloud storage: account details and saved audio are handled through Supabase. Saving a Studio project uploads the project and its audio sources. Closing the browser is not the same as deleting cloud content.
- Sharing: creating a share link uploads audio and the details you provide. People with a working link can listen and forward it. A transcript is displayed on a shared recording when its public transcript option is enabled. Exclusion from search indexing does not make a shared link private.
- Transcription: audio submitted for transcription is sent through our server to Deepgram. The returned transcript may be stored with the recording or project when you save it.
- AI voice and sound features: text-to-speech sends the text and selected voice to ElevenLabs. Voice matching sends a voice description to Anthropic, and the synthesizer’s chat sends your messages to Anthropic to suggest sound settings.
- Payments and analytics: Stripe processes Pro subscription payments. PostHog receives usage events and account identifiers to help us understand how the tools are used and investigate problems. Requests to the site and its service providers also include technical information needed to deliver the service.
Use the account and audio controls to manage saved content, or contact us with a question about your information or a deletion request. Third-party processing is also subject to the relevant provider’s terms and privacy policy.
What information do we collect?
We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.
If you choose to register through or grant access to a third-party service such as Google, Sodaphonic may also collect personal information that is already associated with the third-party account.
How do we use this information?
We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
What information do we share?
Your information may be shared with third-party services with the sole purpose of providing and improving the service to you. Some features rely on sharing your information between services. This will also be done with your knowledge and consent.
Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.
You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.
